ByUstadz Al-Yazid bin Abdul Qadir Jawas

Studying has some barriers that hinder the science and the people who seek it. Among these barriers are:
1. Damaged intentionsIntention is the foundation and pillar of charity. If the intention was wrong and out of order, then the charity is doing is wrong and broken, too, at one and the destruction of intentions.Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
"Charity is hanging his intention, and someone will get what you intended. So whoever hijrahnya because Allah and His Messenger, then hijrah is because Allah and His Messenger. And whoever hijrahnya achieved because the world who want to or because she was going to marry, then hijrahnya it according to what he intended. "[2]
Indeed, the most important obligations to be considered by a prosecutor science is treating intention, attention to kindness, and protect it from damage.
Imam Sufyan ats-Tsauri (d.. 161 H) rahimahullaah said, "There is nothing more serious to me than my intention to treat." [3]
Al-Hasan al-Basri (d.. 110 H) rahimahullaah said, "Who seek knowledge for hope in the Hereafter, he will get it. And who seek knowledge because the world expects of life, the life of the world that is part of science. "Imam az-Zuhri (d.. 124 H) rahimahullaah said," So that's the science part of the world. "[4]
Imam Malik ibn Dinar (d.. 130 H) rahimahullaah said, "To seek knowledge is not because Allah Ta'ala, then it will reject the science that he sought only for Allah." [5]
The good intention is the greatest helper for a claimant in obtaining scientific knowledge, as it is said Abu 'Abdillah ar-Rudzabari (d.. 369 H) rahimahullaah, "Science depends on charity, charity depends on sincerity, and sincerity bequeath understanding of Allah' Azza wa Jalla. "[6]
Imam Ibrahim an-Nakha'i (d.. 96 H) rahimahullaah said, "Anyone looking for something in the form of science that he hopes intend for the face of God, God will give him sufficient." [7]
Let us fix our intent in their studies and stay away from bad intentions only for worldly gain. Because sometimes a plaintiff science conceived in his heart intention to appear (to fame). If he really wanted to learn science, reading a variety of texts and history books and pay attention to it, and it includes those who want the goodness of God Almighty, it would make senses, attention to the books that make it vibrant again to do truth and goodness. As if he was among those who lost passions and syahwatnya, let him not criticize, but to himself. [8]
2. Famous Want and Want to AppearWant to be famous and want to appear is a chronic disease. No one can be saved from it, except the people who are guarded by Allah Ta'ala.
If the intention is to be a prosecutor famed science, hailed like, want to be respected, to be praised, exalted, and he wanted it all is, he has put himself in a precarious position.
Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
يا نعايا العرب, يا نعايا العرب (ثلاثا), أخوف ما أخاف عليكم: الرياء, والشهوة الخفية.
"O Arabs, O Arabs (three times), something I feared most happened to you is riya 'and hidden lust." [9]
Imam Ibn al-Athir (d.. 606 H) rahimahullaah said, "You mean lust hidden in this hadeeth is the desire for humans to see deeds." [10]
Mahmud ibn ar-Rabi '(d.. 66 H) radhiyallaahu' anhu said: "When death was about to meet Shaddad bin Aus (d.. 58 H), he said, 'The most I fear befall this nation is riya' and lust hidden. '"hidden lust is said that someone wanted to (happy) when kindness was praised. [11]
A servant who respected people happy and happy because his knowledge and charities are doing, then this suggests that the nature of riya '(to be seen by others) and sum'ah (wanted to hear) in him. Whoever shows charity because riya ', then Allah Ta'ala will show it to people, and whoever let out charitable, then Allah Ta'ala will play a charity (ugliness) it to humans.
Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:
من سمع سمع الله به, ومن يرائي يرائي الله به.
"He let out (broadcast) charity, God will broadcast her shame. And whoever labor for riya ', then God will open his intention (in the presence of humans on the Day of Resurrection). "[12]
Lust is a disaster, except for those whose heart remember Allah Ta'ala. When Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal (d.. 241 H) rahimahullaah heard that his name was mentioned, he said, "I hope this is not a test for me." [13]
3. Attending negligent Science CouncilThe scholars of the Salaf said that science was in-go, no go. But now science is coming to us and did not attend, except for a few.
If we do not take advantage of established science assemblies and lessons are delivered, we will have to bite the fingers full of regret. If the goodness in science assemblies just a rest for the grace of God to attend and cover them, two things are enough as a motivation to attend. So what if he knows that the people who attend-God willing-gain two luck, the useful knowledge and rewarded in the afterlife?!
A Muslim ought to realize that Allah Almighty has given to His servant ease in their studies. Allah Ta'ala has given the ease with several facilities in their studies, in contrast to the Salafush Salih era. Is not this now we could easily get food for their studies such as money, food, drink, clothing, and vehicles?? Unlike the Salaf scholars, they are very difficult to get it over. Is not it has been widely established mosques, madrassas, council study groups, and more with easy-paced indoor facilities, both with the lights, fans, air conditioning, and more??!! Is it not this many science books have been printed so neatly, nice, and easy to read??!! So where are the people who want to take advantage of God's great favor to examine and study the science syar'i??? Is not it a lot of preachers-preachers who teach and preach bermanhaj Salaf in place (area) you, then why do you not attend?? Why would you not want to go to assemblies of science??
4. Reasoned with the number of BusynessThe reason this made Satan as a barrier in the study. How many of our brothers who have been counseled and motivated to study syar'i, but Satan seduce and persuade.
People who waste the opportunity to seek knowledge, then his work meant he did not attend the council of science. He makes it as a reason for a deliberately contrived so that his absence in the assembly of science have a clear reason.
Various busyness that there is a main cause that prevents a claimant science attend science assemblies and gained a lot of knowledge. However, people who Allah Ta'ala opened his eyes, he will set the time and use them as possible so as to benefit a lot. If someone would think fairly, has the intention and willingness to study, then he will be able to manage his time and God will make it easier.
Therefore, the smart-set time pandailah Allah Ta'ala has given us. Give parts to study syar'i. Set aside one or two days a week to attend assemblies if science can not do it as often as possible. Do not let the days of our busy, yet empty of their studies and dhikr of Allah Ta'ala. Remember, that people who do not meghadiri science assemblies and do not want to study syar'i, then he will lose in this world and in the hereafter.
5. Opportunity wasted Study in Small TimeSomeone will be jealous when seeing people younger more vibrant and earlier came to the gathering of knowledge. He will feel envious at the sight of young children and youth had memorized the Qur-an. He regretted his youth were not used as well as possible to memorize and study. Consequently, when he wants to memorize and study in his old age, a lot of busyness and many guests who visited him day and night. That is why al-Hasan al-Basri (d.. 110 H) rahimahullaah said, "Learning hadith small time like carved in stone." [14]
Therefore, before we are preoccupied with other people, troubled affairs, and regret as people experience it, then use your youth to study syar'i. This does not mean that older people should not despair in their studies, but the whole life we have is an opportunity to study because it is worship. Allah Ta'ala says,
واعبد ربك حتى يأتيك اليقين
"And Worship to thy Lord until the coming faith (death)." [Al-Hijr: 99]
Therefore, the young and the old, men and women, immediately repent to Allaah above all that had escaped and gone. Now start studying, attending council study groups, learn properly and sincerely, and use the best chance before his arrival.
When asked to Imam Ahmad: "Until when will someone seek knowledge?" He replied, "Until death (death)." [15]
6. Bored in Demanding ScienceAmong the barriers are bored studying and concentrating followed reasoned with the latest information in order to know the event is happening.
Science that we find encouraging us to know where we are. We will not be able to cope with various problems and plight, but to put them on the scales shari'ah. A poet says,
الشرع ميزان الأمور كلها وشاهد لفرعها وأصلها
Shari'a is weighing all the issues, and witness the problem and principal branches. [16]
People who are reluctant to prosecute and memorized knowledge, but busied herself with following the news papers and magazines, radio, television, internet, and devote time and energy to such things, and then trying to solve the problem with the stunted view without referring to the clergy, he lose and he will know the losses later in the future.
Sadly, many young activists are angry when the prohibitions of Allah Ta'ala and crying because of the ban violated Allah Ta'ala abused, but they underestimated the various kemaksiyatan others such as backbiting, namimah, and others. They do not perform prayer as an example the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, when he said,
صلوا كما رأيتموني أصلي.
"Pray as you see me pray you!" [17]
They did not do wudoo 'as wudhu'nya Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam, when he said,
من توضأ كما أمر وصلى كما أمر غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه.
"Whoever wudoo 'as ordered and prayers as ordered, diampunilah sins that have been past". [18]
It is not God send down a disease, but there is no cure. It is no accident occurred, but there is a way out in the Al-Qur'an and Sunnah. It is the case that no doubt.
Therefore, you should never turn or bored in their studies. Learn until you get the pleasure of studying. Most information is good, true and accurate is the information from Al-Qur'an and authentic Sunnah.
7. Assess Yourself WellThe point is to feel proud when praised and was happy when heard others praise him.
Indeed, human praise to you is good news that Allah Ta'ala hasten to you. It was narrated from Abu Dharr Jundub bin Junadah (d.. 32 H) radhiyallaahu 'anhu, he said, "Asked the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam, 'How do you feel about the person who does good, then people praised him for these actions?' Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
تلك عاجل بشرى المؤمن.
'It is good news that God segerakan for a Muslim.' "[19]
However, be careful if you are happy when praised by what you do not. Once again be careful that this does not happen to you. Remember the word of Allah Almighty on His reproach to a people,
ويحبون أن يحمدوا بما لم يفعلوا
"... And they love to be praised for doing what they did not do ..." [Ali 'Imran: 188]
Then remember that feel themselves both in general is a despicable act, except in a few cases in accordance with the rules of Shariah. Allah Ta'ala says,
فلا تزكوا أنفسكم هو أعلم بمن اتقى
"So do you consider yourself a saint. He knows about the righteous. "[An-Najm: 32]
So also remember reproach to the Book of Allaah,
ألم تر إلى الذين يزكون أنفسهم بل الله يزكي من يشاء ولا يظلمون فتيلا
"Did you not pay attention to the people (Jews and Christians) who consider themselves holy? Actually, Allah purifies whom He will, and they are not wronged at all. "[An-Nisaa ': 49]
Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said,
لا تزكوا أنفسكم الله أعلم بأهل البر منكم.
"Do you consider yourself pure, Allah knows best those who do good of you." [20]
Perhaps only someone feel good about themselves in some way, as we have already mentioned. For example, the words of the Prophet Yusuf 'alaihis salaam,
قال اجعلني على خزائن الأرض إني حفيظ عليم
"He (Joseph) said, 'Make me the treasurer (Egypt), in fact I was the one who are good at keeping and knowledgeable.'" [Yusuf: 55]
But in general, feel yourself well and love to be complimented is among devils entrance to the servants of Allah Ta'ala. Therefore, be careful that you do not become people who love and are proud when praised and do not try to listen to praise it.
If you want to know the dangers like praise, consider your obedience began to decline, and see the people who praise you. Indeed, if he does not know what she could see of yourself and your charity is not pleasing Allah Ta'ala, if he'll still praise you??!!
The lesson to be learned here is the one we want to be careful to think well of yourself attitude. Let us take care of the title deeds include the name of the degree that we do not have. Therefore, anyone in a hurry to get something ahead of time, then he will not get it.
